Vehicle Description 1989 Dodge W250 LE 4x4 Flatbed Pickup Flatbed trucks are one of the most versatile vehicles on the road today. With their open, level platform and lack of sides or a roof, flatbeds haul oversized, heavy, or irregularly shaped cargo that simply won't fit inside a traditional box truck. The open design allows for easy loading and unloading from all angles-side, rear, or even overhead via crane or forklift. This open design makes flatbeds an ideal choice for transporting construction materials, large equipment, palletized loads, and agricultural products. Kandkmfg.com For consignment, a 1989 Dodge W250 LE 4x4 flatbed pickup truck showing 211,004 miles, but the true miles are unknown. Here's a heavy duty flatbed powered by a Cummins turbo diesel, ready to take on your toughest hauling challenges! Exterior Not your everyday combination, two stage Violet Metallic sandwiches Charcoal Gray Metallic on the body of the truck, augmented by the Ram hood ornament and a Lund visor over the windshield. The bi-colored truck is also delineated with stainless trim that borders the gray and a band of black molding below it. Side steps and wide mirrors complete the front as we turn our attention to the diamond steel bed with a back rack and mud flaps attached. It shows a bit work induced patina but is a solid structure. 16-inch wheels hold LT245/75R16 tires with an early 2023 date code. Imperfections include some minor scratches in the paint, some fading of the black inserts of the grille, a small ding on the fender where it meets the hood and a gap issue, and some minor inclusions. Interior Red velour, maroon plastic, and dark red carpet makes up the door panels and both show a touch of wear with scratches and fading. The same could be said about the red cloth bench seat with ornamental strips of oxblood vinyl and the driver's side has witnesses some time with tears, fading, and wear. In contrast, the passenger side looks barely used. Black tape and a cover have extended the life of the standard steering wheel and woodgrain adorns the handsome dashboard a black plastic rings surround the gauges. Closer to the center, you have the Cummins branded information center, the A/C panel, and a Realistic AM/FM/Cassette radio barely holding on. Our dash pad has seen accessories come and go and the remnants are there while the red carpet on the floor is pretty good and surrounds the range selector. The headliner would be right at home in Sag Harbor and could use a refresh.  Drivetrain Dodge's venerable 5.9 liter Cummins Turbo Diesel is under the hood, rated at 160 horsepower and fuel injected. It's mated to an A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic that routes power to a Dana 70 in back and Dana 60 in front. Power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning are on board and the bay presents in driver quality aesthetic conditions. Undercarriage Soot, surface rust and patina are all accounted for on the solid underside with some residual oil as well. Leaf spring suspension is utilized front and rear and brakes are split between power disc up front and power drum in back. The single exhaust lacks a muffler and exits just above the hitch receiver in back. Drive-Ability The engine starts with that familiar diesel sound and a bit extra from the exhaust as we roll this rig onto the tarmac. It runs fine and tracks straight on newer tires. We note the passenger window goes out of track and needs help on its way both up and down, the power locks, A/C, and radio are not working. All other functions operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Here's a ¾ ton truck that's ready for work, but you could also put your ragtime band or quartet on the back for the Memorial Day parade or party event! Lots of possibilities here but if you've read this far, you already know that! |
